shelbourne Winery, Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, Magic Hat Brewery, Vermont Wildflower Farm
Today we stopped at the Shelbourne Winery which was a great stop and tasted 8 wines each. We met a couple from MA here and they asked us to go to the Magic Hat Brewery to do the tastings of 9 beers there so off we went. Had a great time and they were a very nice couple.
Then we went to the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory and had a great tour there. What a cute place including the Teddy Bear hospital. Met a couple from Washington State there and talked to them awhile.
off we went to the Vermont Wildflower Farm where we purchased some seeds and walked through their gardens of all the different wildflowers. This company is the largest wildflower distributor on the east coast. Since we belong to Harvest Host we had made plans to stay in their parking lot for the night. It worked out well because they did have an outside bathroom and we faced the field of wildflowers. We also met a very interesting couple - Nocola who was born in Yeaman and whose mother was born in Nirobi? but then moved to Australia but she married an American who has since died and has a apartment in New York. Mickey her boyfriend is english and has 3 children living in England. The bought a boat and sailed the Carribean for two years and now have just bought a RV and are touring the country in it with no time table. They were funny and really nice. They were staying as part of the Harvest Host program in the parking lot too so that night we toured their camper and enjoyed some stories and wine with them. They have been enjoying Vermont taking the back roads were head to Ben and Jerry's the next day but I also convinced them to head to North Beach Campground in Burlington where we were going because Burlington is such a great little town with bike trails leading out from the campground. When we left the next morning they told us they had called and made a reservations for two nights.
So not only would we be staying for two night at North Beach but Gary and Doreen would be staying there as well.
