Trip to Vermont after the hurricane and flooding

Wednesday and Thursday, September 7 & 8. Well, we finally left three days late and had to change all of our plans because most of the the central part of the state the roads were closed and flooded out. So we decided to leave later and stay on the east border and drive up to the north and then camp along the western border.
Headed out on a rainy day but then it went to a drizzle and we never got the heavy rains that southern New England got. Stopped in South Deerfield, MA at the Yankee Candle Factory Outlet and loved those candles. Great store. Our second day of driving to Burlington was nice with the sun out and the temperatures were in the high 80's.

Stayed at Wilgrus State Park right on the Ct River the first night. Nice campground! Headed up 91 and 89 towards Burlington the next day and it was beautiful. Decided to stay at a private campground because we needed to charge our GPS so stopped for a night at Shelburne Campground just below Burlington. Great location near the Shelburne Museum, winery and other attractions. Ran in to Doreen and Gary at this campground with their big New Foundland puppy Reagan! This was a total surpise because we did not know they were headed to Vermont and they didn't know we were. We will be at this campground tonight with them but then we are moving on but we both have reservations at North Beach Campground in Burlington for Sunday and Monday night. Funny!
We went to the Shelburne museum and will go back tomorrow and then visit the winery before we head to a state campround right on the lake.
